For The Wire and Breaking Bad Fans, Did Hank’s Death Seem Familiar?

While watching the perfectly scripted, acted, and choreographed scene of Hank’s demise this past week, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of deja vu. Initially, I drew a blank as to where this feeling was coming from, but after replaying it in my head and analyzing it a few times, it came to me: Stringer Bell!

The parallels I noticed: the “changing his/your mind” lines, to the desolate scenery and environment, the two rivals brought together for a common interest (Mouzone/Omar and Walter/Uncle Jack), and the altogether eery and the general feeling that the audience had, knowing in each instance that the outcome was forthcoming and inevitable.  And… the biggest similarity for me! The way both of their final words were cut off by the killshot: “Well get on wit’ it motherf—” and “Do what you’re gonn-“

Anybody else agree?
