Wednesday 2:34 PM: CBS Sports’ Jon Heyman is reporting Cano’s meeting with the Seattle Mariners went “very, very well.”

Wednesday 12:57 PM: The Seattle Mariners are emerging as a major player for Robinson Cano as reported by ESPNNewYork.com.

The Yankees seem to be set on offering Cano a seven year deal in the neighborhood of $175 million. Cano has been reported at wanting nine years and $252 million with a vesting 10th year option of $28 million.

The recent signings of Brian McCann, Jacoby Ellsbury and the Yankees self imposed 2014 team salary to be under the $189 million tax threshold, seems to have put Cano’s possibilities of rejoining the Yankees at less than 50%, according to insider sources who are familiar with the negotiations.
